Welcome to
Dancing Horse Ranch
Things Zack and Shelby Have Learned
Since Living at Dancing Horse Ranch...

1.  "Going to town" means
going into Colorado Springs.

2.  Shelby knows she's back home on the prairie because everything is flat.

3.  If you walk in the house in the dark, you might step on a mouse gall bladder, because Bogey the cat is a great hunter,
but like any male, he doesn't clean up after himself.
Also, cats like to play with mice before they eat them....
and fast mice sometimes escape.
Then the fun begins.

4. Playing "hacky-sack" with horse balls
after a gelding is fun, but messy.

5.  Dissecting horse balls after playing "hacky-sack"
with them is even messier.

6.  Don't walk behind a horse --
and not just because they might poop.

7.  Dogs like to eat horse poop -- a lot.

8.  Kissing a dog after they eat horse poop
is NOT a good experience.

9.  Horse kisses are fun, but they don't
have the greatest breath in the world.

10.  If you blow on a horse's nose, they show you their teeth.
Their teeth look like they need to brush.

11.  It snows sideways on the prairie
because the wind always blows.

12.  Now we know where tumbleweeds come from.

13.  Skeeter the horse is the lead mare.
Stay out of her way, or become a pancake.

14.  The wind can blow really hard on the prairie.
And earthquakes aren't the only thing that can make a
house shake.

15.  When you live on 40 acres, you have a huge backyard.

16.  Climbing haystacks can be more fun
than just about anything.

17.  If you're allergic to hay,
climbing haystacks is only fun
until the first itch starts.

18.  The cat doesn't live with us....
We live with the cat.

the first person to get a halter on her!

19.  When you live in the country,
you can drive a car while
sitting on someone's lap,
even if you're only 7 and 10 years old.

20.  WE LOVE
LIVING IN THE COUNTRY
MORE THAN ANYTHING!!!!
